4 Paws for Ability, Inc., was founded in 1998 in Ohio, to fill a gap in providing highly-trained service dogs to children and adults. 4 Paws service dogs are provided to individuals regardless of age or disability and there are no geographic limitations. Most of our placements are with children under the age of ten, and 4 Paws has placed over 600 dogs across the globe.
4 Paws for Ability is a comprehensive service dog organization that strives to take the “dis” out of disability by providing Autism Assistance dogs, Seizure Response and Alert dogs, Mobility Assistance dogs, Hearing Ear/Signal dogs, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome dogs, Diabetic Alert and Response dogs, Multipurpose Assistance Dogs (covers multiple disabilities that can include Down Syndrome, Fragile X, Apraxia, ADHD, a variety of mental health diagnoses, medically frail children, and life threatening medical illnesses like cancer). 4 Paws service dogs are trained to help children and adults live more independent lives so they can better contribute to society.
The commitment to the disabled, case specific training, and attention to the increase in Autism and Diabetes among children, sets 4 Paws apart from other service dog organizations. 4 Paws delivers on its ability to provide highly-trained, personalized service dogs to children and adults, fundamentally changing and shaping the way they live and manage their disabilities.
4 Paws will be using monies raised from this website to go directly into its building fund. In order to place more than 100 dogs per year, 4 Paws needs a larger building to house the dogs and more room for the trainers to train the dogs. Thank you for your support of 4 Paws growth!
